Application Process

HOW TO APPLY

To apply for a scholarship, please follow the steps outlined below.

  1. Submit Your Application: Click the APPLY button below for the scholarship you're interested in. You will be guided through a series of questions designed to help us understand your needs and match you with the appropriate scholarship opportunities.

  2. Attach Supporting Documentation: Upload all necessary documents to substantiate your request. Proper documentation is crucial for the evaluation process and helps us assess your eligibility for the scholarship.

TYPES OF SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION
  • Financial Hardship Letter: Provide a detailed letter explaining your financial situation and why you require additional support. This letter should outline any extenuating circumstances that affect your ability to finance your education.
  • Conference Agenda & Proposal: If you are seeking funds to attend or present at a conference, include the agenda and a copy of your proposal. This documentation should highlight the relevance of the conference to your academic and professional goals.
  • Research Proposal: Submit a comprehensive research proposal if you are applying for funding to support your research. The proposal should include an abstract, objectives, methodology, and expected outcomes.

Types of Scholarships Available

Research Expenses

This scholarship provides funding for students engaged in research to cover essential expenses. Eligible costs include materials, equipment, software, and other resources critical to conducting high-quality research. This support ensures that students have the tools they need to pursue innovative projects and contribute to their field.

  • Who can apply?

    Students who are enrolled at the School of Education & Human Development and have completed at least one semester.

  • When can I apply?

    Deadlines for Travel Expenses Scholarship.

    • August 1st - September 27th for Fall
    • January 6th - February 28th for Spring
    • May 1st - July 27th for Summer

     

    There are no deadlines for Emergency Support and Research Expenses scholarships.

  • How to apply?

    Log in to the SEHD Research, Travel and Emergency Scholarships form website using your UM Cane ID.

  • How will I be notified?

    You will receive an email notification to your UM email from SOEgradenrollment@miami.edu within two weeks of applying.
